Intention - the ‘why’ & the ‘what’
Intention. It’s such a grounding word. It asks us the why and the what: Why am I doing this? What do I want to accomplish? It’s a question worth answering before taking on anything new.
When I sat down to write this inaugural blog piece for our new Threads to Treads MiniMag feature, I’ll admit—I hesitated. Jamoi encouraged me, saying, “It should come from you. People want to hear from you.”
My first reaction? Do they? Why?
And then it clicked. It’s not about me—it’s about us. Our industry.
We are a community of people who, in one way or another, sell wearables—footwear, apparel, accessories. Whether B2B or B2C, we provide the products that help others achieve their goals. Finance or function, fashion or fun—our work offers choices that allow people to express themselves and live with intention.
So, what’s the intention of this new blog feature?
Quite simply: to engage our industry in conversations that matter. We’ll share thoughts on relevant topics, explore how events shape our work, and invite your perspectives along the way.
If you’d like to contribute, please reach out—we’d love to share your voice with the community.
In the meantime, keep those thoughts positive, and those elbows up!
